Warning Technology! 2012, Intel Processors Cut Production 19
Slowly, Intel will stop production of 19 processors for desktop computers in 2012, includes the type of Clarksdale, Lynnfield, and Sandy Bridge.
The decision was taken because Intel has released a new desktop processor will shift the position of the old processors that have been aged two years. The processors are using the latest from Intel socket LGA1366, LGA1156 and LGA1155.
In fact, several series of this type of Sandy Bridge processor was launched several months ago. Core i5 series of models will be replaced with a newer generation such as G630, G630T, and G860.
The market of this type of Sandy Bridge, and Sandy Bridge-E, targeting the mainstream segment. For this reason, Intel prefers to stop production of the old processors intended for high-end segment, rather than having to slam the price.
In November 2008, Intel introduced the Core i7 socket LGA1366 model. Processor with high performance is targeting high-end segment. However, socket LGA1366 that support began to be replaced LGA2011 processors Sandy Bridge-E since 14 November 2011 ago.
While the LGA1156 socket which was introduced in September 2009 and destined for the mainstream segment, was replaced with socket LGA1155 that support Sandy Bridge in January 2011.
This is a list of Intel processors whose production will be discontinued:
• Intel Pentium: G6950, G6960, G620, and G840 G620T
• Intel Core i3: 520 and 2100T
• Intel's Core i5: 650, 660, 670, 680 and 2300
• Intel's Core i7: 860, 870, 930, 950, 960, 980 and 990X.
