Life Style :: In the U.S., Jews & Muslims 'Unity' For Food

"In principle foods, we are more similarities than differences," said Muslim residents, Sharifa Kudiya. Kudiya, who lives in Draper, making halva, pasta desserts including cream of wheat, turmeric and coriander. The halva is eaten with honey cake made ​​by Karen McArthur of Kol Ami.
 
Jewish rabbi, Ilana Schwartzman welcomes this event. He said the food, especially in the Jewish tradition, promote understanding and unity in times of sadness and joy. "There is so much strife in this world between Islam and Judaism. And we try to find common ground," said Schwartzman.
 
Salt Lake Interfaith Roundtable was first held 10 years ago. Interfaith Week is a time for reflection for both Muslim and Jewish communities to tolerate each other. Currently this week has been used as an interfaith celebration for a month and followed from some other religions.
