Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Indonesia's largest Islamic organization, the labor rate is ironic that Indonesia (TKI) would be treated more honored in the non-Muslim countries than in Muslim countries.
"The concern I have said, in a non-Muslim countries such as Taiwan and Hong Kong, migrant workers are treated even more honored than in Muslim countries, like Saudi Arabia and Malaysia," said Chairman of the Board of NU (NU Chairman) Kiai Haji Said Aqil Siroj in Jakarta, Tuesday (04/24/2012).
Said Aqil was responding to a shooting by police of three migrant workers in Malaysia last month, and now even a rumor circulating the sale of organs is the third victim.
"The firing of workers by Malaysian police have repeatedly occurred. That barbarous acts which we certainly regrettable," said Said Aqil.
He said that if there are violations of law committed workers, would not be handled immediately by shooting, especially the deadly shooting.
"If the police play the shot, what country is it? We ask the Government of Malaysia crack down on police who act play the shot for the sake of the dignity of the nation itself," said Said Aqil.
However, NU also wish there was a genuine effort of the Government of Indonesia to protect its citizens who work abroad. The reason, Said Aqil continued, the issue is not purely foreign workers, but also related to the dignity of the nation.
As reported, the Malaysian Police gun down three migrant worker from Pancor Kopong, Pringgasela South, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, who allegedly wanted to attack at will was arrested on March 25, 2012 in the Port Dickson, Malaysia.
As a result, three TKIs, Herman (34), Abdul Kadir Jaelani (25), and Mad Nur (28), a tragic death at the scene.
Related event, the Head of National Agency for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Workers Moh Jumhur Hidayat expressed strong protest.
